Miravalle 1926 at Vinitaly 2024: optimism in the sector

Vinitaly (14-17 April 2024) came to a close after four intense days, during which I can confirm that I breathed a sigh of moderate optimism. In the various pavilions that made up the exhibition space, there was also a massive presence of foreign importers, with a good percentage of visitors from Asia. Vinitaly 2024 was a very well organised event, involving the city of Verona and beyond, with many events that anticipated and complemented the exhibition itself.

Well aware of the difficulties and the complicated geopolitical period, I can truly say that I breathed a desire for recovery and resilience beyond expectations, with confirmation – from the main exhibitors – of unexpected results in terms of visits, contracts and a very positive outlook for the future. There is a real determination to emerge from the complicated years.

Among the latest positive news, consumption of red wines also seems to be really picking up after a year or two of market contraction: let’s hope that this is not just a temporary upturn, but that the trend consolidates over the coming months.
