METEO
From a climatic point of view, the good news is that the risk of a frost has now been averted and, in view of the fact that during the past winter (as well as during the month of April), rainfall has been abundant more or less throughout the country, including Southern Italy, the conditions are now in place for a return, at last, with the next harvest, to a production of more abundant quantities than the last two harvests.
Of course, there are still many months to go, and let us hope that the summer does not reach such high temperatures as to compromise the next harvest.
MARKET
As far as the Italian wine market is concerned, the availability of generic white wines, which have now exceeded € 6.00/degree everywhere, has been confirmed, although with the good weather forecasts that I announced earlier, it is likely that there will be some reduction in the next few weeks.
Withdrawals are proceeding smoothly both in Italy and above all towards foreign countries, which is why stocks in Italy are lower than last year Vinitaly was very active, with a considerable presence of importers from every continent.
